An air cooled bike would not have a Clutch cover with a water-pump cap- but the 1982 clutch was prone to disastrous failure, where the teeth would jam, and break the center cases.
I found this out the hard way trying to start my race bike at Goldendale. • There was a loud CRACK, and looked down to see the left center case split open. Ugh.
