The
waterway north of Everett Washington has been calling out to
me for years. 
Light, water, sky.
Bars. Gel. Paint-can mark.
I have begun to describe these as ingredients in a recipe. Some
paintings call for more lemon, some for more salt. More Cilantro
in this one, more apricot in that one. When
do you know it's done? is a question I have heard many times.
Like cooking. You just know.
