We
were walking in the snow and an American Robin was eating apples
now gone soft in the late autumn. In the snow the blacks and
whites around you are very loud to the eyes. The ruddy colors
of the Robin and the fading yellow of the apples struck me.
Also
among many conventions to push back on, is the standard 2 x
3 sort of typical dimensions that paintings end up being. Making
my own frames allows to me to do very wide pieces like these
three. Breath of fresh air.
