Sweet 17 (2020)

The 17th Spark Plug. Canvas done for the 2020 Handbuilt Motorcycle Show in Austin Texas.

Lodge Plugs were a British spark plug manufacturer based in Birmingham and Rugby, Warwickshire, from 1904 to the 1950s. The heyday of the company was pre-war, with 3/4 of the output going to the RAF during WW2.

Alexander Lodge died in 1938, leaving his sons in control of the firm. Later it changed hands, with the original family fading out, and the Lodge name continuing until 1982.
